Texas Drowning Prevention Alliance

The Texas Drowning Prevention Alliance was founded in September 2011 by a group of concerned citizens. Their plan was “to assist in the prevention of the drowning of all the citizens of Texas.”

The Texas Drowning Prevention Alliance provides educational materials and sources that can help save lives.

Their purpose is

  1. to work to join all existing efforts and implement education and legislation to prevent drowning
  2. provide information to everybody regarding ways to prevent drownings

The founders decided to model the alliance after those in Florida, Arizona, and New York. By March 2012, the Alliance had a “unified water safety message so that Alliance partners could each disseminate that message to the communities in which they are involved.”
