Recycled Products Do Make A Difference

Sometimes we forget to recycle. We might think that it’s okay if we don’t recycle because everyone else does. Surely our thirty cans a month don’t make that big of a difference, right? Wrong. Here’s a short list of a few items made from recycled materials:

  • Bags, totes, wallets
  • Leather iPad covers
  • Cardboard FM radios
  • Active wear
  • iPhone covers
  • Backpacks
  • Kitchenware
  • Bottle openers
  • Kitchen towels
  • Hats
  • Bicycles
  • Toys

The list goes on, but one of the most interesting things I have seen is from a 1973 article in Pool News that shows a couple of guys who made a swimming pool out of recycled aluminum cans. The empty cans were bound together with a protective fiberglass that they had created and it took 37,000 cans to build the pool. So before you throw those cans away, stop and remember the many things that can be done with recycled materials!
