Hayward Vari-Flo Multiport Valve SP0710X62

Hey, guys. It’s Austin, again, at Today, we’re looking at
Hayward’s Vari-Flo valve that’ll be used on multiple Hayward sand filters.
This is going to be model SP0710X62.

We’re just going to disassemble and reassemble it, and talk about it a
little bit. It’s going to be an 1½ inches, all the ports will be. It has a
total of 5 of them. We just have 6 screws that we need to take out to get
to the internals.

Once you take out the internals, you’ll see as it’s all connected. This is
what they call it the key valve; this is going to help rotate the valve.
It’s going to have a gasket at the top that needs to be lubricated. Then
attached to that, there’s going to be that stainless steel spring which
connects to the handles. When you’re pushing that down, it is going to
rotate, and that’s how the valve performs. Once you replace that, might as
well just buy it all as an assembly and you just drop it right in there.

We have the spider gasket; it’s going to be a 5-spoke gasket. There’s going
to be no need to lubricate or glue this gasket in. To reassemble, just make
sure that the ports line up, as well as your holes, and then you’re just
going to drop in your 6 screws.

That sums up the Hayward SP0710X62. We have it today at
