If you’re used to working out in your pool and are unsure of what to do now that the cold weather is setting in, don’t worry! You can exercise in your hot tub just like you did in your pool. Here are a few exercises that can be performed in your hot tub:
- Abdominal exercises: sit up straight in your seat and take a deep breath. As you slowly exhale, contract your abdominal muscles while you push out the air.
- Legs: while sitting, extend your legs straight out and slowly bring one knee to your body. Extend that leg again and repeat with the other leg.
- Legs: sit on the hot tub seat and simply move your legs very slowly and fully extend them up and down in the water.
- Legs: while sitting on the edge of the seat, lift your legs up and rotate them slowly as if you were riding a bike. Try to keep your abdominal muscles tight for a tummy exercise and leg exercise in one!
Just because your pool is out of order during the wintertime does not mean that your water aerobics are over! Get creative and stay tuned for more interesting ways to exercise in your hot tub.
