Christmas on the Water

I was born and raised in a very small town in western Oklahoma. Every year on the second Saturday of July, we would have “Christmas in July” at Foss Lake in Foss, OK. This was a time for everyone to get out on the water with their boats and when the sun set, we got to see a parade of boats decorated beautifully with Christmas lights and decorations. The show finished with fireworks over the water.

Now, instead of Christmas in July, you can have Christmas in December—and still be on the water watching a parade of boats and seeing the glow of fireworks. The Mississippi Gulf Coast—Biloxi is hosting their 28th Annual Christmas on the Water Boat Parade! It is a community-wide celebration that offers something for everyone! Young or old, adventurous or quiet, this event will make everyone smile. The boats parade in full holiday décor with a fireworks show after the parade. The show is free of charge.
