2014 Drowning Prevention 5K

On Saturday March 1, 2014, the International Surf Lifesaving Association is hosting the 2014 Drowning Prevention 5K. The purpose of the 2014 Drowning Prevention 5K is to raise “funds and awareness for aquatic safety,” celebrate “the ocean and environment, as well as” honor “those we have lost.”

The 5K will take place on Huntington Beach Pier at 9 am rain or shine. Registration is $25 for adults and $20 for children under 13; it’s free for ISLA members.

The organization hosting the 5K, ISLA, has made it their mission to “advance professional lifesaving development to areas in need around the globe.”
