For the spookiest day of the year, only the scariest pool in the world seemed appropriate.
The title belongs to the Devil’s Pool which is located at the fringes of Victoria Falls in Africa!!
Victoria Falls where the Devil’s Pool is located.
During most of the year, the current prevents access to the Devil’s Pool, but during the dry season the water level is low enough so that rocks form a natural barrier and create an eddy safe for swimmers.

Local folklore regards the place as cursed because despite the rock barrier, deaths occur occasionally. The local council urges visitors to stay within the designated swimming area.

Pool season might be coming to a close, but there’s still hot tubs to look forward to. Tucked away in a pocket of the Maya Mountains, Blancaneaux Lodge is a 20-room luxury resort hotel in Belize. It has waterfalls that flow into their turquoise pools above the jungle canopy and its remote mountain settling makes it perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating. They have an incredible horseshoe-shaped tub that was designed by Oscar-winning production designer Dean Tavoularis and is made from thousands of pieces of local granite. Built by local stone craftsmen, it sits in a hillside among the lush jungle paradise. Another plus is the resort’s ultra-green hydroelectric plant. This plant heats up the 11,000-gallon hot tub with the excess electricity it generates—so it is not as harmful to the environment.

On February 2, 1909, the Zodiac brand was registered. In 1934, they launched a 2-seat inflatable kayak prototype. In 1936, they launched a second boat in the shape of a catamaran equipped with a sail. In 1937, Aéronavale—the French Naval Air Service—requested that Zodiac work with Pierre Debroutelle to develop an inflatable bomb and torpedo carriers. Dr. Alain Bombard crossed the Atlantic on a Zodiac boat in 1952 and in 1963 they developed the nautical market in France and the first boat show in Paris.
In 1996, Zodiac acquired Baracuda. Barracuda is a company that specializes in the design and manufacture of suction pool cleaners. They are located in North America, South Africa, Europe, and Australia. They celebrated their first century anniversary on December 22, 1996. The following years were spent acquiring Autoflug (life rafts and life jackets), Clearwater (salt-chlorination water treatment solutions), PSA (French manufacturer of pool heating systems), EVAC (environmentally friendly vacuum toilets and wastewater pools), Polaris, and many more. In February 2008, they acquired Jandy Pool Products, Inc. and in 2010, Zodiac Pool Care and Zodiac Pool Systems—formerly known and Jandy Pool Products—merge together to create one. They are an incredible company with an incredible history who constantly strive to improve the world.

No Mor Problems is a preventative algaecide that does more than just prevent algae. It also acts as a clarifier, pool filter aid, and it breaks up chloramines.
No Mor Problems helps prevent all types of algae and bacteria in every kind of swimming pool. Its active ingredient is Sodium Bromide and it is compatible with all types of chlorine, salt water, and bromine pools.
Besides being a preventative algaecide, No Mor Problems works by activating the chlorine in the water.
It also acts as a clarifier and a pool filter aid, possibly reducing filtration times by up to 50%.
No Mor Problems also helps break up chloramines, the pool chemical that causes your eyes to burn, skin irritation, and the chlorine smell.
Besides being a sort of “pool man in a bottle,” No Mor Problems is bio-degradable, non-toxic, and easy to use. It helps eliminate the need for shocking, brushing, and phospate removers.
Simply use 5 oz per 5,000 gallons of water every time you use chlorine.
Despite being a great chemical to have, this is a preventative algaecide, so it does not kill algae already in the pool, a different chemical is needed for that.

On November 4, 2011, Andrew L. Pansini passed away at the age of 93. A dedicated family man, creative innovator, and cherished friend to many, he was also the founder of Jandy pool products. They say he was known as a ‘man who looked at things differently than most people’ who enjoyed turning an observation into an invention. From accident to invention, this creative eye is what started everything for Jandy.
In the 1950’s, there was no such thing as an ‘automatic pool cleaner.’ Pool owners had to manually scrub and clean their pools. During an afternoon of cleaning, Pansini’s garden hose accidentally fell into his pool and started swerving along the surface of the pool—spraying water everywhere. Being a creative man, Pansini sat and watched the hose interact with the pool water—realizing that the hose was driving the dirt toward the outlet drain and in turn, cleaning the pool. He grabbed some pipes and connected them to the hose to more efficiently direct the flow and created the world’s first automatic pool cleaner. In 1958, Pansini founded Jandy Products. The name comes from a blend of two names—his wife Jane and his own, Andy. He continued to improve his original concept and created a submersible cleaner as well as the Jandy LeafMaster—one of the most widely used cleaners in the pool trade. He continued to invent, create, and reform his inventions, causing Jandy to grow and grow. He grew Jandy into one of the most well known pool product manufacturers in the country, building an unparalleled reputation for producing the highest quality pool products on the market. His visionary contribution to Jandy is what made it a right fit for Zodiac. In 2010, Zodiac merged with Jandy to become Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. and Jandy employees joined alongside Zodiac and Polaris Pool employees to ultimately form the Zodiac family of brands. This ‘dream team’ now provides the pool industry with the most advanced products needed for a pool.

“From the start, Pentair has been a company driven by vision, while grounded in the practical application of the best available ideas.”
Pentair has products and a history that dates back to more than 150 years ago. Their business has always been stemmed in innovation and they have designed and engineered many important flow management and heat solution products in the industry. Dating as far back as 1859, their products have been an important part of many countries’ industries and have helped to engineer industry operations in energy and processing. They have also established important infrastructure in the construction of power plants and water pipelines.
On August 31, 1966, Murray Harpole, Vern Stone, Vincent Follmer, Leroy Nelson, and Gary Ostrand founded Pentair Industries, Inc. they based their name on the Greek root penta-, which is a reference to the five founding partners. They purchased Peavey Paper Mills in 1968, and grew in the paper industry throughout the 1970’s. They also began to diversify their business portfolio into industrial products in 1978. In 1981, they made their first major investment in a non-paper business and acquired Porter-Cable, a manufacturer of portable electric power tools. The team closely examined opportunities for stronger growth and higher shareholder returns. With continued improvement, they again upgraded their portfolio in 2004 and plunged into the water industry.
They completed the acquisition of Wicor Industries, bringing more than 5,000 passionate employees and market-leading brands such as Sta-Rite, SHURflo, and Hypro to the Pentair water portfolio. In 2008, Pentair and General Electric solidified its $2 billion water technology business to serve multiple industries worldwide. Today, they continue to grow and strengthen their offering in water technology and bring innovative solutions to bear on the world’s ever-increasing water consumption needs.
In 2010, Pentair became “The Official Sustainable Water Provider” for the Minnesota Twins baseball organization and Target Field. They donated a Rain Water Recycle System designed to allow the Minnesota Twins to recycle rain water and then use it to wash down the lower decks of the stadium and irrigate the ball field. With summer coming to a close, many pool owners wonder what to look forward to with winter on its way. Luckily, we’ve got just the thing for you water lovers: hot tubs. There is nothing like relaxing in the hot waters of a Jacuzzi and letting your stress melt away. One of the best places to soak is at the Molori Safari Lodge in South Africa.
Here, you can watch elephants, zebras and lions run around from your six-person-in-ground tub. This five-suite lodge is situated below the red-hued Dwarsberg Mountains on 12.4 acres deep inside South Africa’s 185,329-acre Madikwe Game Reserve. They even have personal butlers that supply you with Amarula (a South African liqueur made from the fruit of the African marula tree) on crushed ice and “Biltong and Droewors” (a traditional beef snack). Kiwi Collection says it best, “For those who like African wildlife with their luxury accommodations, or vice versa, Molori Safari Lodge offers both in abundance. Lions, hot tubs, and infinity pools, oh my!”
